Living in Cincinnati:
My summer in Cincinnati was an unforgettable experience that offered a perfect blend of work and leisure. I stayed in a shared apartment in Newport, KY with other international students, which made the experience more enjoyable. The public transportation system in Cincinnati is reliable, making it easy to commute to and from work. Additionally, the city is very walkable and bike-friendly. I utilized Red Bike – an inexpensive shared e-bike service that had locations close to both my apartment and my job at Great American Ballpark. Cincinnati has a lot to offer in terms of cultural activities; I was able to go to museums and experience the Cincinnati orchestra at Music Hall among other things.
Work Experience with DNC Sports Services:
Working as an ice cream concession stand attendant at the Reds Stadium was exciting. My role involved serving a diverse crowd of baseball fans, ensuring they had a delightful experience during the games. One of the best parts of my job was interacting with fans from all walks of life. Whether it was a family enjoying a day out or die-hard baseball enthusiasts, every interaction added to the lively atmosphere of the stadium. The camaraderie among the concession stand team was fantastic. We supported each other through busy game days, and the team spirit made even the longest shifts enjoyable. This job was a great opportunity to develop my customer service skills and learn the ins and outs of concession stand operations. It also provided insight into the American work culture, which was both educational and enriching.
Overall, my summer in Cincinnati working at the Reds Stadium was a fantastic experience. The job itself was engaging and enjoyable, and the city offered a welcoming and vibrant environment for a summer work and travel student. I would recommend this experience to anyone looking for a summer job in the United States.
